Chevin Research Ltd. was established in 1989 with its headquarters in Otley, West Yorkshire. Initially the company designed equipment for the laboratory/scientific market, a sector in which it remains active. During this period, the compact and lightweight Chevin power supply was developed and proven.
In 1992, Chevin launched the A Series range of lightweight and compact amplifiers. Designed specifically for the professional user, A Series amplifiers offer outstanding sonic performance, build quality and reliability in a compact and lightweight package.
Since then, Chevin Research has emerged as a global player in the Pro Audio marketplace. Chevin products are distributed worldwide, with over 90% of sales to export markets.
The A Series range now comprises 16 models with power ratings ranging from 300 to 3000 watts per channel. The power-to-weight ratios are among the best in the business: 300 wpc stereo fit neatly into a 1U/9lbs chassis while power ratings from 450 to 1600 wpc stereo & quad are housed in a 2U/27.5lbs chassis. Even the “Big End” of the range - total output powers of 6000+ watts - fit in 3U/30lbs and 4U/weighing just 50lbs. That said, A Series sell on reliability and performance: the sonic performance is of such a standard that the amplifiers are as successful in studio monitoring applications as they are in fixed installation and on the road.
